The owners, Lena and Bob Erwin, began the business in a small shop in the Fairfield, Texas area more than 40 years ago.  It was a one person shop in the beginning then the business grew and we were able to add an extra groomer.

The grooming business grew rapidly.  After 12 years, the decision was made to build a kennel at the owners residence just to see if it would be worthwhile.

The area only offered pet boarding through the Veterinary Hospitals and never saw such a place as Lena’s Groom and Board Resort.  Within the frist 2 years the kennel outgrew itself.

The only choice was to buy land and build a much needed facility to serve the tri-county areas.  Lena and Bob never thought it would grow as rapidly as it did.  The kennel has housed up to 132 pers during the holiday periods.  Lena requires the staff to stay on top of everything.

The kennel has had many, many compliments on the cleanliness, as the staff’s friendliness with the client, and the personal care the pets are given whitle at Lena’s Groom and Board Resort.
